Implementing Regulation (EU) 2025/1960 is the technical rulebook behind the 2026 guarantee changes. It defines the exact design and content of the two harmonised graphics that traders must display, and sets the date they apply: 27 September 2026.
What the Regulation does
While Directive (EU) 2024/825 sets the policy — making guarantee and durability information clearer for consumers — the Implementing Regulation supplies the practical detail. It establishes the harmonised notice on the legal guarantee of conformity (Annex I) and the harmonised label for the commercial guarantee of durability (Annex II), specifying how each looks and what it must contain, so the same information appears consistently across the EU.
The two harmonised elements
Annex I — legal-guarantee notice
A fixed notice reminding consumers of their legal guarantee of conformity, shown in the consumer's language. For online sales it is placed as a general reminder on the trader's website.
Annex II — durability label (GARAN)
A product-specific label for qualifying producer durability guarantees, with editable fields for the number of years, brand and model.
The date that matters
The Regulation becomes applicable on 27 September 2026 — the same date from which Member States apply the measures transposing Directive (EU) 2024/825. From that day, guarantee information can no longer sit only in terms and conditions; the harmonised graphics must be shown as the Regulation prescribes, unaltered, and in the right language.
What this means for your store
The practical challenge is showing the correct graphic, in the correct language, on the correct pages — and, for the durability label, only on qualifying products — then keeping it right as your catalogue changes. WarrantyARK renders the official Annex I notice in 24 EU languages and the Annex II GARAN label where it applies, automatically.
